Girl Monday, part 2! Linda is one of the original girl workouts from way back (2003).
We like it because it combines two powerlifting movements with an Olympic weightlifting movement using great loading percentages given the rep scheme. All these features make it a really unique workout. It isn’t often we put a bench press in a metcon, because it usually doesn’t make sense logistically (or for safety), but this workout is the exception. We try to make it work this once, because yolo. 🙂
The original intention for Linda is squat cleans. That is how we are prescribing it. If you want to do power cleans, etc., that is fine, but make sure you record that for the next time you perform it.
We know we’ve listed this workout for time, but seriously – accomplishing the weight while working at a steady pace is a good goal and not worrying so much about time.
The logistics of this workout might be a little tricky. It is ok to share barbells. Everyone doesn’t need their own bars and bench. An option for fitness is also to modify the bench to push-ups. It’s up to you.
